Two Years Later Dirty (Dirty Rich One Night Stand) Lisa Renee Jones - Blog Tour

One and done. It was supposed to be one night. I knew his type. You don't fall in love with a man like Reese Summer, but I did. He swept me off my feet, seduced me, refused to take no for an answer. We became a power couple. The syndicated crime reporter. One of the country's top criminal attorneys. The fantasy became happily ever after until the next big trial of the century. Reese is defending a woman accused of killing her father for billions. I'm reporting on the case. And then the world around us explodes. The trial turns to danger right as a secret from Reese's past shocks me.  Someone who wants to destroy our happily ever after. Someone wants to end me.

Two Years Later is a powerful portrayal of true love. It's nicely paced and full of twists and turns which kept me on the edge of my seat.

Two years into their marriage and Reese's and Cat's love and connection are stronger than ever. Whilst Reese is preparing for a high profile criminal case, Cat is faced with a dilemma. She has news which could impede on Reese's performance during the trial. As if that's not enough, Reese's long forgotten past comes back to haunt him. This threatens their "perfect" world. Can they overcome these obstacles and come out unscathed at the other end?

I was mesmerised by the court process, Reese's expertise and Cat's reports throughout the trial. I like the way they navigate through the issues whilst their reasons for living are being thwarted by lies. They love and protect each other with all they have and that intense chemistry they have is absolute. It's a strong and heartfelt storyline. Reese and Cat are truely a model couple. The roles of the familiar secondary characters strengthen this compelling plot and I loved every single aspect. Magnificent!

“Cat, I’m not guilty.”

“I know.”

“You don’t,” he says, his voice hard now. “I feel that in you now.” He squeezes his eyes shut. “Damn it.”

“I trust you, Reese, but the idea that other people might not, feels weird which is probably why I just want to shut this down. It’s about control. I’d have some kind of control I don’t have right now but it’s not your fault. We need to end this. Your career matters.”

He lowers me to the couch, and comes down on top of me, like he needs to hold me in place to keep me from running. “You matter. Only you.”

“Your career matters,” I repeat. “It matters to you and me. It matters to us and our future. It matters to our future family. Pay her off.”

“Our family?”

“Yes. Our family, Reese. We want one. Don’t we?”

“Yes, sweetheart. We do.”

“Then let’s go downstairs and end this.”

“Not yet,” he says. “I’m not ready. We’re not ready.”

“We are ready. We’re strong together. We need to show that strength now.”

“You’re strong,” he says. “So damn strong, Cat, and I swore when you said ‘I do’ I’d keep you from having to be that strong. I’m supposed to protect you.”

“We protect each other.”

“I need to feel you right now,” he says, his mouth closing down on mine, a deep drugging lick of his tongue stroking against mine, possessiveness, passion, and something I’ve never felt in Reese in that kiss: desperation and fear. He’s afraid of losing me and I feel that same fear, for no reason. We’re in love. We’re happy. That isn’t going to change because of these allegations.

I kiss my wife, who is my life, and I will let no one take her from me. I want her to know this. I want her to feel, not just hear, how much I love her, and yet, there is a rage of anger inside me I need to bury and control. I have to go downstairs and act like I’m king of the fucking world when everything I love is right here in this room, and delicate, too damn delicate. As surely as I think those words, though, Cat bites my lips, and not gently. “Get out of whatever place you are in your head,” she demands. “Right now. I know what you need, so use me.”

“I never use you, Cat.”

“I use you,” she says. “Every time I need out of my own head, I drive you to the edge until you fuck me the way I want to be fucked. Until you make me forget and,” she grabs the lapels of my jacket, “stop what you’re doing right now. Stop acting like we’re different because that makes me think things that I didn’t think before, that I know aren’t true, but you’re scaring me. You’re making me think this is going to change us.”

“It’s not,” I say roughly. “I’m just angry.”

“Then be angry. Deal with it, with me. Show me.”

I don’t need to be pushed any further. I need her. My mouth closes down on hers, my tongue licking into her mouth in a deep, hungry kiss, and I let her taste everything I feel. My fear of losing her, and us. The gut-wrenching moment I heard the allegations against me. Just thinking about how that must have affected Cat, gutted me. Just thinking about her actually believing it, tore me apart. And some part of her has to doubt. It’s human. I don’t want her to doubt.

I tear my mouth from hers. “You’re all I need. You’re what I needed before I even knew I needed it.” I kiss her again and then raise up on my knees to shrug out of my jacket, tugging away my tie and tossing them both. I’m back with Cat in all of sixty seconds, kissing her again, my hand caressing her waist, reaching up to cup her breast.

She arches into my touch and while moments ago, I just needed inside her, the anger in me refocuses on the here and now, and Cat. It’s all Cat. I want her to moan for me. I want her to come for me. I want and want where she is concerned, and she needs to feel that now.

...has been stolen.

The one that will make her mark on the industry and save her life in the process.

But now it’s gone. Stolen right from her shop. All would be lost if Raquel didn’t feel she knew who was behind the theft. Devastated to her core, she decides to do something about it.

5 Stars

Perfume Girl is an innovative gem of a story. It's beautifully paced and portrayed. The unravelling of the mystery is expertly crafted and the romance is profound.

Astor is a well known perfumer with a mysterious past. He is sinfully sexy and is not known for sticking to relationships on a long term basis. He comes across as being a player.

Raquel is the proud owner of Perfume Girl. She has been creating perfumes since she was a little girl and now, everything she has built and worked hard for comes crashing down.

Raquel is on the right track for achieving her dreams until she finds her husband cheating on her. A divorce follows and money is becoming scarce, threatening her business. The something special that she has been working hard to create could well be her salvation, but to add salt to her wounds, it goes missing along with her formulas. She doesn't have a clue about who could be the source of this cruelty until she has a chance encounter with a client. She takes matters into her hands and decides to confront the culprit, but things don't go as planned!

Upon meeting Raquel, Astor is initially dismissive until she makes a witty comment about a perfume which could suit him. His curiosity is piqued and he decides to humour her until he finds out what she is really up to. After all, he has been subjected to industrial espionage in the past! Although they are both suspicious of each other, they strike a bargain. As they get to know each other, feelings which are foreign to them start to surface. Will they achieve the true purpose of this liaison or are they in for a surprise?

The mystery gradually unfolds and secrets long buried start to surface. The romance between Astor and Raquel is real, but there are some harsh twists along the way. It's a compelling and romantic story which had me turning the pages to find out who is really behind this web of lies and deceit. I love the storyline and absolutely love Astor and Raquel. Despite the doubts and heartaches, the author delivers an exquisite conclusion.

I was kindly issued with an eARC and the views expressed are my personal opinion.

I have read some of the previous books in this series and loved them all, but this one is my favourite. It's charming, humourous, dramatic and so very romantic.

Frances, known as Fanny was rescued from her boring life with her parents by her long lost sister, Ivy. She now lives in the beautiful countryside of Suffolk and loves her new life.

David is the new Earl of St Ives. He loves the countryside and has a fascination for birds. He is slowly settling into his new role which came rather suddenly.

Lost in the countryside whilst taking a walk, Fanny is rescued by a mysterious gentleman. Except for first names, they don't reveal their true identities, mainly for propriety's sake, but before parting, they share a kiss. A kiss, neither David nor Fanny can forget.

David travels to London to take his place as the new Earl, even though his heart isn't in it. He makes friends with a couple of the notorious bachelors and accompanies one of them to partner his sister on the dancefloor. To his surprise, the sister's friend is the one and only Fanny. She is just as surprised to see him. Dancing isn't their forte and there are some embarrassments, but their sense of humour sees them through. They also find that their initial attraction hasn't waned in the slightest and it looks like love is in the air. They connect on so many levels, but an old family feud and David's promise to his father might well get in the way of their prospective future. Can they overcome these barriers and find their happily ever after?

I was totally absorbed in this story. It starts off light and humourous, but drama comes from past events, family interference and David's promise. The uncertainty of the future makes this a real page turner. The dangerous twist shows their strength of character and their palpable love. It's a passionate and heartfelt romance and I savoured every bit.

I was kindly issued with an eARC and the views expressed are my personal opinion.

Gone Hunting (0.3 Weird Girls) Cecy Robson - Blog Tour

by Cecy Robson

Weird Girls, #0.3
Publication Date: October 24, 2018
Genres: Adult, Urban Fantasy, Romance, Standalone, Prequel

Discover Cecy Robsons sensational Weird Girls series for the first time or go back to the beginning

The rest of the werewolf pack might consider Aric Connor to be omniscient and destined to save the world when evil returns to claim it. But for the most part, fifteen-year-old Aric ignores the confirmations of his powers, taking everything in stride until he meets her.

Celia Wird wasn't supposed to awaken naked in the mountains of Colorado, not when she was just stalking her prey in a filthy alley several states away. She especially wasnt supposed to meet Aric, the handsome werewolf who comes to her aid.

As a supernatural tasked with protecting the earth, Aric sympathizes with Celia's dangerous situation. Hes also struck by her beauty and kindness. Yet, as much as Aric welcomes Celia, her arrival isn't a peaceful one.

Dark forces stir in Celia's presence, resolute on killing her. Aric and his inner beast are adamant about keeping Celia safe and with them. But there's a time and a place for love, and Aric and Celia might not survive long enough to find it.

*NOTE* Gone Hunting is a prequel to the Weird Girls urban fantasy series. It can be read as a standalone.

The night I was born, a bat swept down in front of my father as he ran along a cobblestone road. My father ignored the bat in his haste to reach the Central American hospital where my mother labored with me. The bat disappeared in the shadows. In its place emerged a man, his dark skin bare, his voice ominous, his imposing form blocking my fathers path. Be wary of this one, he warned in Spanish. She's not like the others.

Okay, I'll confess. This didn't happen. But it sounds way cooler than simply admitting my father used to kiss me goodnight wearing vampire fangs, and that he was the first person to trigger my overactive imagination.

I've always loved telling stories and getting a laugh. I've also enjoyed hearing stories, especially of the paranormal variety. Being of Latin descent, I heard many tales of spirits who haunt the night, of death lurking in the darkness waiting to claim her victims, and of circumstances which could only be explained by magic and creatures not of this earth.

The stories frightened me. I often slept clutching a crucifix while my plastic glow-in-the-dark Virgin Mary stood guard on my nightstand. And still I begged for more.

Sometimes the beasties of the night bumped too hard, and I swear I could see ghosts floating above me. I trekked on despite my fear, surviving each night while my plastic protector looked on.

On May 1, 2009, I decided to write a story about four unique women who must trek through their own darkness where supernasties bump hard, and bite harder. The Weird Girls series is the journey of Celia, Taran, Shayna, and Emme Wird, sisters who obtained their powers as a result of a backfired curse placed upon their Latina mother for marrying outside her race. Their story begins when the supernatural community of Lake Tahoe becomes aware of who they are, and what they can do.

Weird isn't welcomed among humans, nor is it embraced by those who hunt with fangs and claws, who cast magic in lethal blows, and who feast on others to survive. I wanted to show weird could be strong, brave, funny, and beautiful.

My weird girls will often face great terror, just like my seven-year-old frightened self, except without a glow-in-the-dark icon to keep them safe. Despite their fears, they fight like their lives depend on it, with only each other to rely on.

Sometimes, the darkness will devour the sisters. And sometimes, good won't succeed in kicking evil's ass. But just like glow-light Mary, there is hope. And there is humor―often twisted, a little inappropriate, and always hilarious―very much like a father saying goodnight to his children wearing a rubber ghoul mask and owning a collection of fake fangs no adult male should possess.

So, read on and check out my Weird Girls series. Maybe you'll find I'm really not like the others.

I haven't read any of the other books in this series and this gives an insight into this particular supernatural world. It's about Weres, Light and Dark Witches. Good versus evil.

Aric is a pure breed fifteen year old Were, son to the alpha of his pack. He is seen as being special and destined for great things.

Celia is an orphan from another region. She is looked after by her foster mother, and she has three sisters.

Aric goes hunting with his best friends, when a strong turbulence of evil foils their plan. Celia appears to be lost and Aric and his wolf want to help and protect her. It turns out that she is no ordinary girl. There is another side to her nature which intrigues Aric, whereas his friends are not so welcoming until danger threatens them all. She shows her kindness and resolve by helping them fight off the dark and fatal magic. By now, they know a little more about her origin, but there are secrets that she won't divulge. Aric is drawn to her and his wolf is just as smitten. Can he keep her safe despite their differences?

I like Aric's friends who have different personalities with one common goal. Protect good from evil. They are all lovable, but Liam happens to be my favourite. Mimi, the hag is something else. This story is full of dark and dangerous magic. It's nicely paced with danger, romance and humour. The cruel twist at the end is very well portrayed and gives an indication of what might happen at a different time! This book would appeal to fans of the supernatural.

I was kindly issued with an eARC and the views expressed are my personal opinion.
